Highly recommend JohnStar Construction for the home renovations. Received a competitive estimate and the works were completed on schedule. The works such as basement finish, full house painting, some flooring and electrical works were completed with good quality and we were able to list the property in the market as per the plan. I was looking to get my basement finished when I found out about JohnStar Construction from few friends who had already used their services. I also visited their Facebook page to do some background check and they came out pretty good. Subsequently I contacted Johnstar, as well as few other contractors, to get an estimate; although most contractors came quick enough to provide me with a quotation, Johnstar was the only contractor who did a thorough inspection of the space and gave me a proper quote the next day. Other contractors just had a quick look and gave me a quote then and there, which I feel was improper. Later on I came to know that one of these contractor was hired by a friend's friend to get his basement done but not only the work didn't get completed on time he had to shell out atleast 25% more than the initial quote provided to him. With Johnstar my basement was finished within the same amount mentioned in the initial quote even though I know for a fact that wood/stud prices had gone up between the time when quote was provided and framing had started; they even threw in some interior deco at no additional cost to me. But most importantly I was really glad that the work was finished on time and as per the agreement; I was able to use the basement from fall of 2021 as promised by the company. I waited for a year to post this review as I wanted to make sure the work quality is good and so are the materials used for the construction. After more than a year of using my basement I can gladly attest that everything is intact so far and nothing has broken down. All in all I can see that the company has done an exceptional job with my basement! Their team is quite professional, organized and efficient! I would certainly recommend Johnstar and wish them all the very best!
